Cartoon strips engage with our human desire for linear narrative. Simply through the process of reading them, the reader’s mind becomes engrossed in the story- making them the perfect medium for getting across your message!
Strips are ideal for when you have a series of bits of information you want to get across. By incorporating this into a humorous story, the information will be more memorable, and you can rest assured that your important message will not go unheeded.
CORPORATE CARTOON STRIPS FOR TRITON SHOWERS….
CARTOON BRIEF FROM TRITON SHOWERS…
Experience has shown that often the best way to communicate Triton’s messages to installers is in a light-hearted and easy to understand method.
The average installer is a Sun/Mirror reader. Many will be small business owners or sole-traders who, due to time constraints, do not want to spend vast amounts of time wading through text. For maximum impact, the best way to convey messages to this audience is in a visual form.

Cartoons are such effective communicators
Cartoons are one of the most immediate and vital forms of communication available. Cartoons are one of the quickest and most universal ways of conveying information. They don’t require one to be able to read to understand them, and with just a glance their message can be understood. This makes them ideal for use…

Cartoons are such effective communicators – so are cartoon strips, whiteboard animations and caricatures!
It probably sounds far-fetched, but cartoons are one of the most effective means of communication. As the world moves forward into more instant gratification, cartoons are becoming ever more useful to convey messages quickly and simply. To understand why cartoons are so effectual in communicating with humans, we need to look at why we are hard-wired to take their messages on board ahead of other forms of communication.
Cartoons can convey a message in seconds as you don’t need to read anything to understand it. This makes it an ideal medium to reach every demographic. Often public service communications and health and safety messages will contain cartoons to illustrate or emphasise the message to ensure that those who are illiterate or non-native speaking will grasp the meaning.
From childhood, we are taught to heed signs of all kinds, from road signs to no smoking signs. Without words on these signs, we would still understand the message instinctively. On the flipside, cartoons are increasingly being used in school textbooks to emphasise ideas that need to be conveyed in words. The combination of cartoons and text ensures every audience gets the message.
Childhood experience with common signs in combination with early exposure to cartoon strips (and understanding the way they function) means that any cartoonist has a pre-primed audience in any field. Increasingly, advertising companies are using cartoons for instant recognition of the product or service they are offering.
As well as our childhood instincts and familiarity with signs and pictures, cartoons also bring to mind an element of happiness and fun which serves to relax an audience in a potentially dull or tense meeting or presentation. This is particularly helpful when working with a group of people who don’t know each other as it acts as a great icebreaker by uniting your audience with shared humour.
Using cartoons during a presentation or meeting encourages your audience to loosen up when they feel the relief of a light moment. This shift in attitude can be used in different ways. For example, if you have a difficult or sensitive message to convey, using humour is a way to diffuse any tension throughout the audience that may be created from addressing specific behaviour or work issues that may have arisen.
Tapping into our natural instincts for communication is a must as the world moves faster. Cartoons are such effective communicators – don’t you think?
